Flash Can Make Your Message More Compelling

if you are thinking about using Flash, take a look at my DOs and DON'Ts.

DON'Ts

1. Don't use Flash for opening animation. What is the first thing users learn about Flash? - Where to find the "SKIP INTRO" button FAST.

2. Don't use Flash for navigation. Search engines currently cannot index Flash content so it doesn't recognize Flash hyperlinks.

3. Don't do anything that slows down users or are purely gratuitous. In general, avoid doing anything that can be annoying.

DOs

1. Integrate Flash content into your web page.

2. Have something interesting to say. Your audience wants content.

3. Where possible, give the user control over the pace of presentation and selection of content.
